Collection of simulation activities

Simulation 1: Mobilization of the patient

This simulation scenario focuses on mobilizing a geriatric patient with a stroke (CVA). It is intended for 3rd-year General Nursing (AMG) students and aims to develop competencies related to the assessment and care of an elderly patient with a stroke.
The topic is part of the “Geriatrics and Specific Nursing” module.
The simulation involves three roles: the nurse, the patient, and the family member (the daughter), and it aims to ensure the correct application of mobilization measures and effective communication with the patient and the family.

Simulation 2: Caring for patient with hypoglycemia

The simulation scenario focuses on the theme “Caring for a patient with hypoglycemia.” It is designed for 2nd-year General Nursing (AMG) students and aims to develop competencies related to assessing and providing care for a patient experiencing hypoglycemia. The topic is part of the module “Internal Medicine and Specific Nursing.” The simulation involves four roles: the nurse, the doctor, the patient, and the family member (daughter). The scenario focuses on applying the correct emergency interventions for hypoglycemia and ensuring effective communication with both the patient and the family.

Simulation 3: OXYGEN THERAPY PATIENT CARE

The simulation scenario focuses on the theme “Caring for a patient requiring oxygen therapy.” It is designed for 2nd-year General Nursing (AMG) students and aims to develop competencies related to assessing and providing specific care for a patient who requires oxygen administration. The topic is part of the module “Internal Medicine and Specific Nursing I – Care in Respiratory Conditions.” The simulation involves three roles: the nurse, the patient, and the family member (daughter). The scenario focuses on applying the correct measures for patient assessment, oxygen administration, and ensuring effective communication with both the patient and the family.

Simulation 4: Changing Clothes of the patient

In this simulation video, students performed a procedure designed to change a patient's clothing, ensure hygiene, protect skin integrity, and increase patient comfort, using proper technique. Simulation was used as a learning tool in the video.

Simulation 5: Nutrition of The Patient

Feeding bedridden patients is crucial for maintaining overall health, promoting healing, and reducing the risk of infection. In this simulation video, our students performed a procedure designed to feed a bedridden patient. The video used simulation as a learning tool.

Simulation 6: Throat Culture

A throat swab is a diagnostic procedure used to identify infectious agents (bacteria, viruses, etc.) in the throat. In this simulation video, our students performed a designed procedure for obtaining a patient's throat swab properly. The video used simulation as a learning tool.

Simulation 7: Using a Nebulizer Device

A nebulizer is a device that converts medications into a vapor for respiratory illnesses, allowing the patient to inhale. The device must be hygienic before use, and the medication must be prepared according to physician instructions. In this simulation video, our students practiced a procedure designed to properly administer a nebulizer to a patient. The simulation was used as a learning tool.

Simulation 8: Acute Nursing

The simulation is intended to develop the students’ ability to provide care and perform systematic data collection, based on the 12 nursing problem areas, in a newly hospitalised patient. To respond to changes in the patient's health. To perform measuring expanded vital signs and reflect on the measured values and finally to act according to the ABCDE principles.

The simulation involves three roles, one as the patient and two roles as healthcare assistant students at the medical ward.

Simulation 9: Injection of vitamin B

The simulation is intended to develop the students’ ability to initially introduce him/herself as a healthcare professional to the patient. To identify changes in the patient's health status. To be able to apply correct sterile technique principles when unpacking the remedies and finally to be able to execute the injection, applying the correct injection procedure. The simulation involves two roles, one as a healthcare assistant and one as a patient (a manequin) with the possibility of an observer present.
